Get it Together Chicago
This week marked the much anticipated registration opening for the Chicago Marathon. 45,000 open spots available to willing runners that sold out in 6 days last years. Surely one on top of their game could easily make that timeline, right? Not when active.com drops the ball like a Saigon whore drops trow. Within minutes of going live, the flood overwhelming their system and crashed their servers. Somehow 30,000 people got through in a record few hours, but one of those folks was not me.
After careful deliberation, the powers that be chose to open the remaining 15,000 spots via a lottery. Despite obvious concerns I have with this decision, if I can train my body to run a marathon, I can deal with this little speed bump. 3:00:00 marathon here I come.
