Chesnut Mountain
Last weekend Simone and I joined a slew of friends to rent a house in Galena, IL. The blessing (and curse) of Galena is the local ski hill, Chesnut "Mountain" Resort. A far cry from Utah pow, Chesnut boasts 220 skiable acres with 475 vertical downhill. But that was not where the fun was to be had. 2 dozen or so of us rented a house and partied pretty hard before hitting the slopes. It was a really great weekend spent out of the city getting to connect with all sorts of new people.
Just in case you didn't believe me, it really is 475 vertical feet.
