Machu Picchu here we come

Every year I try to set aside some cash to quell my traveling bug for another 12 months or so and this year is no different. My beautiful girlfriend, my good buddy Drew (who I actually met in Berlin) and myself will be heading out on a sizable adventure to the land of the Incas – Machu Picchu, Peru.

I've never been south of Mexico, so it had ought to be quite the journey. We've booked our trip through REI Adventures and they seem to be top notch every step of the way. In late July we fly into Lima, Peru and spend a few days on the coast getting used to the elevation change. From there a quick flight over to Cusco where our journey begins.​ We'll spend several days hiking over 15,000' peaks, past avocado orchards, banana trees and coffee plantations before arriving into the "City of the Incas"​.

I might post a little before our trip as we prepare and snag all sorts of cool toys like the new 120fps GoPro Hero3. This should be a blast!​
