I'm 30. Now what?
This past week dawned the completion of my thirtieth year. Aside from being born on tax day, the day the Titanic sunk, and of most recent tragedy, the Boston Marathon bombings, I feel pretty freaking great. Seriously. A lot of folks have a tendency to focus on what's not right in their lives, while I've been making a concerted effort for years to know exactly how great my life is at this very moment. I have a great job, beautiful, loving girlfriend and a curiosity that never seems to wane.
I wanted to post a note on that curiosity in fact. As I take a personal inventory on my 30th birthday, I can't help but feel like I'm finally starting to get it. I'm not there yet, but I'm over trying to please everyone and truly feel that I'm going my own way with full-ish confidence. I sent out this Ira Glass quote to our creative department the other day and thought it was worth posting. In my short time in this industry and in life, I've learned a few things; things will always be more difficult than you assume and they will always take more time, there are no problems, only situations and everyone is great at being themselves.
